tl;dr
how on-tab works.
- Start at ₦5,000. Pay back on time → tab grows up to ₦150,000.
- Settle within 7 days = 0% fee. After that, flat 8% / 30 days.
- Late after due date: ₦150/day for the first 7 days, then your account is restricted.
- We never add charges silently. Repay amount is on-screen before you tap.
- Default 60+ days = reported to credit bureaus. Same as any other loan in Nigeria.
1. who can put bills on tab
Any verified Azabill user (18+, valid BVN & NIN, Nigerian resident) with a starter tab. Your starter limit is set after BVN verification and may change based on your repayment history and credit signals from licensed bureaus.
2. how the tab grows
Everyone starts at ₦5,000. Each on-time repayment can step you up:
- 1st on-time repayment → ₦7,500
- 3rd on-time repayment → ₦15,000
- 5th on-time → ₦30,000
- 10th on-time → ₦60,000
- 20th+ on-time → up to ₦150,000
Missing a due date can pause limit increases or reduce your limit. We re-evaluate weekly.
3. fees
- 0–7 days from purchase: 0% fee. Settle inside one week, you owe exactly the principal.
- 8–30 days: flat 8% of the principal, charged once at day 8. Example: ₦10,000 tab settled on day 15 = pay back ₦10,800.
- 30+ days (overdue): ₦150/day late fee for 7 days, capped at ₦1,050. After that, account is restricted until you settle.
Repay amount is always shown on-screen before you confirm a tab purchase.
4. how we collect
- From your Azabill wallet balance, on the due date.
- From a direct debit on your salary account — only if you have explicitly turned this on in settings.
- By you initiating a transfer, card payment, or USSD repayment in the app.
We never call agents on you. We do not WhatsApp your contacts. We do not post on socials. If anyone claiming to be Aza recovery contacts you that way, it is a scam — report to [email protected] immediately.
5. what happens if you don't pay
- Day 1–7 overdue: reminder SMS/push + ₦150/day fee.
- Day 8–30 overdue: account restricted (no new tabs, no transfers out). Fee capped.
- Day 31–60 overdue: escalated to internal recovery. Account remains restricted.
- Day 60+ overdue: reported to licensed credit bureaus. This affects your credit score across all Nigerian lenders.
We will never use abusive language, harass your contacts, or post your information publicly. Any recovery agent claiming to represent Aza who does these things is acting fraudulently — report them.
6. dispute a repayment
