The rules of using Aza — what you agree to when you sign up.
You must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid Nigerian BVN and NIN, and be a Nigerian resident. By creating an account you confirm you meet all these.
Your Azabill wallet is a real Nigerian bank account that you can receive into, send from, and use for everyday transactions. Your funds are held in that bank account by our regulated banking partners; we handle the app and credit features built on top. AzaBill itself is not a bank or a microfinance bank and does not hold your deposits as a bank.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secret. Any transaction made with your correct PIN or biometric is presumed to be authorised by you.
When you pay a bill, you can either pay from your wallet balance or put it on tab. On-tab payments create a short-term credit obligation: you owe Aza the principal amount plus any agreed finance fee, repayable by the due date shown before you confirm.
See our separate Loan Policy for limits, fees, due dates, and what happens if you do not pay on time.
Fees are always disclosed on screen before you confirm.
We are not liable for losses caused by: events outside our control (network outages, payment or bank downtime, biller system failures); your failure to keep your credentials secure; or use of the app in breach of these terms.
Our maximum liability to you for any single incident is capped at the value of the disputed transaction.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. For material changes — including fee increases or credit limit reductions — we will give you at least 30 days' notice in-app and by email.
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, are suspected of fraud, or your loan is significantly overdue. You can close your account at any time from settings, subject to settling any outstanding tab first.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes you cannot resolve through our care channels will be referred to arbitration in the FCT, Abuja, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
